The Ipek Arnas brand of concept knitwear developed out of a ready to wear collection, with an emphasis on knitwear and a tangible leaning towards the technicality of knitwear construction. The brand now focuses entirely on knit, creating strong, often androgynous styles with bold shapes and signature detailing. Using brave geometric shapes and tricots the brand has a unique position, which reunites modern style with both traditional and experimental knitting techniques.
In 2012 Ipek Arnas was a selected contestant in the International Woolmark Prize where she presented at the London finals to the jury of Lanvin’s creative director Alber Elbaz, Alexandra Shulman, DSquared2 creative director’s Dean & Dan Caten, Tim Blanks and Christiane Arp.
Ipek Arnas has been featured regularly in International press including Italian Vogue, Elle, Vogue Turkey, Vogue Knitting, Vogue Netherlands, Harper’s Bazaar.
The designer speaks of knitwear as something which is living “knitwear is alive - the forms, contours and structures come to life during the construction of their making”.
